NEURODIAGNOSTIC TECH
AFFINITY HEALTH SYSTEM has a relief on call opportunity for an EEG tech at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh, WI.  This position requires on call hours every 4th weekend from Friday at 3 p.m. to Monday at 7 a.m.; coverage for weekday hours, vacation, and sick as needed.  On- call hours may include travel to affiliated site, St. Elizabeth Hospital, located in Appleton, WI.

Required Qualifications: Associate degree from an accredited program in Electroneurodiagnostics preferred.  Will consider equivalent experience, but  R. EEG T. or eligible preferred.  The EEG tech will be responsible for the effective performance of diagnostic testing including EEG, ambulatory EEG, and evoked potential testing.  One to three years experience preferred.  Strong working knowledge of Windows based computer system required and good verbal/written communications skills a must.

Nurse Practitioner - Sleep Medicine

The NP functions independently, but under the supervision of the neurologists. Primary emphasis is on assessment and arranging appropriate testing or referrals, making recommendations and devising a treatment plan in conjunction with the neurologists, educating patients and their support network regarding their diagnosis, treatment and management and assuring that these services are appropriately coordinated. The NP will be primarily involved in the care of the sleep disorder patients initially, and then with patients experiencing other neurological disorders. Requires a Masters Degree in Nursing. Must have current State of WI Registered Nurse licensure, certification by a national certifying body (such as the American Nurses Credentialing Corporation (ANCC)) as a nurse practitioner, and hold or qualify for certification as an advanced practice nurse prescriber in the state of WI. The
Polysomnographic Technologist is responsible for performing comprehensive polysomnographic testing and analysis, and associated interventions under the general supervision of the Clinical Director. The position also provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. Will act as a resource person to all sleep center staff to assure continuity of quality patient care in accordance with the Sleep Center's objectives, policies and procedures. Administers an advanced level of practice in sleep medicine and has an advanced understanding of neurodiagnostics.

Education: Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to an Associate’s degree with an emphasis in polysomnography or successful completion of a polysomnography program of no less than one year duration associated with a state licensed and/or national accredited educational facility or equivalent experience and documented proficiency at all competencies required of a Polysomnographic Technician.


Experience:  One to three years of experience in polysomnography. 

Licensure/Certification:  Must be certified by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT). American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR also required.

POLYSOMNOGRAPHY TECHNOLOGIST (Casual) (JOB # 2010-0016)
  • Summary: Under the direction of the Sleep Disorders Center Director, will be responsible for testing patients in the Sleep Disorders Center. Will be accountable to the Medical Director and Center Director with respect to medical direction. Will perform polysomnographic testing and a wide variety of other duties related to the evaluation and treatment of patients with known or suspected sleep disorders. Will stimulate innovative improvements in patient care through demonstrating expertise as a practitioner. Will particularly address the care administered to the patient with sleep disorders.
  • Required Qualifications: Associate degree in a health related field. Minimum of one year of experience in respiratory therapy, EEG, or other healthcare area related to diagnostic testing –OR- successful completion of a polysomnogram program. Registered polysomnography technologist. CPR certification.
  • Desired Qualifications: Registered or registry eligible respiratory therapist or electroneurodiagnostic technologist.
